Google Analytics AIR beta

The Google Analytics Reporting suite is an Adobe AIR application that brings Google Analytics to the desktop. It uses it’s own custom API to interact with Google and nearly implements all features of Analytics.

This unofficial AIR version of Google Analytics delivers the functionality of browser-based Google Analytics but with greater usability and a richer experience. If you haven’t heard of AIR (once named “Apollo”), it’s a platform developed by Adobe that enables web developers to deploy their web services outside of the browser so they function more like traditional applications.

If you don’t already have AIR, you need to download it to use any AIR-base applications (as with Flash).

SlideRocket! PowerPoint Killer

SlideRocket is a web application that provides everything you need to design professional quality presentations, manage and share libraries of slides and assets, and to deliver presentations in person or remotely over the web.

SlideRocket has all of your typical slide show features but also incorporates things that Flash does really well. Even you can embed a Flash object right into a presentation to add some rich animation or transition.

The charting features of SlideRocket are also very impressive because they’re using the Charting components from Flex. So you can quickly and easily embed very meaningful data visualization assets into your slides. Because it’s Flash, you can embed Flash video into your presentations and also embed the finished presentation into a blog or other page to tap into the viral element.

Kevin Lynch Flashforward Boston Interview

NUI Flash Surface vs MS Surface

This video trailer of Natural User Interface’s Flash Surface seems too cool, it almost simulate the all features of MS Surface, except wireless media transfer between devices, and automatic device recognition. Project is using Flash 9 with AS3, and it will be open source. So far it looks direct competitor to MS Surface.

There are more videos available on Google video here and here.

I think Flash is best option they used. The key differences between this and what Microsoft is building are that the AS 3 library will be open source, allowing anyone to incorporate this type of functionality into their own applications. Developers will need a touch screen to handle the user's interactions, but the software will be available as open source. You can get involved and learn more at nuigroup.com.

The latest Flash 9 performs better, and have accelerated full-screen support, it features HD video support, and best of all, it runs on most operating systems. Overall, it could be a better and cool alternate to MS Surface. Hmm... let see how things going.
